What is ReadTheory?

ReadTheory is an online reading comprehension assessment tool for students. It allows students to read narrative, informative, or informational literary passages and answer corresponding comprehension questions, while tracking student performance and reporting progress to teachers.

Is there an app for ReadTheory?

After just 20 minutes on ReadTheory, students generate enough data to populate their very own progress reports replete with insights about their unique reading abilities. This app requires an Internet connection and the developer can change the content of the app at any time.

Is read theory any good?

While it’s not a completely standalone reading program, ReadTheory makes differentiation easier for a classroom of students. It’s genuinely useful and time-saving, especially given the solid data teachers get on each student.

Can I add a co teacher to read theory?

Students can add a co-teacher by going to the “My Teachers” page and inputting the teacher’s email. We don’t have a whole-class standards review (yet), so it does need to be reviewed one-by-one for now. Reach us at support@readtheory.org if you need us!
